How to Take the Perfect Passport Photo
Follow these simple steps to ensure your photo meets official government requirements and gets accepted the first time!
Step 1: Setup Your Environment
- Lighting: Stand facing a window with natural daylight. Avoid harsh shadows on your face.
- Background: Stand against a plain white or off-white wall.
- Distance: Place your camera about 1.5 meters (5 feet) away from you.
Step 2: Pose Correctly
- Expression: Keep a neutral expression. Do NOT smile. Mouth must be closed.
- Eyes: Look straight at the camera. Eyes must be open and clearly visible.
- Glasses: Remove glasses. They cause glare and are banned for most passports.
